The Club Services in Chicago seeks a Club Coordinator to oversee day-to-day youth development programs and staff procedures, planning activities, training staff, and collaborating with community partners to support recruitment and retention.

You will supervise Youth Development staff, ensure safety and engagement, collect outcome data for grants, and coordinate with schools and volunteers to meet attendance and program goals. A background in youth work and college enrollment is preferred.

The Club Coordinator is also responsible for collaborating and maintaining relationships with our community partners. Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement programs for youth members
  • Plan field trips
  • Coordinate special events
  • Assist volunteers when assigned
  • Responsible for program reports, particularly BGCA reporting
  • Evaluate program staff on a regular basis
  • Ensure Club Attendance goals are on target by working with schools, attending community events, etc
  • Ensures that Youth Development program areas are appropriately staffed for youth activities
  • Assures students are safe and engaged in activities
  • Encourages emotional, social, and educational growth of individual students
  • Responsible for collaborating and maintaining relationships with our community partners
  • Responsible for collecting outcome measurements such as pre and post test assessments for grant deliverables and BGCA
  • Direct supervision of Youth Development and Program Specialists
  • Provide all materials for Youth Development and Program Specialists
  • Oversees that program areas are left cleaned and organized at the end of the day by the program staff
  • Other possible responsibilities pertaining to the club include, but are not limited to:
  • Staff supervision
  • Data Entry
  • Chaperone for field trips
Requirements:
Knowledge:
Demonstrate knowledge of principles related to youth development, management, ability to plan effectively, group leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics and discipline and understanding of the population of youth served. Scope Of Authority:
The Youth Program Coordinator’s direct supervisor is the Director of Club Services and assistant Club Director. The Youth Program Coordinator oversees Youth Development Specialists within their Scope of Responsibilities. Education:
Employees need to be 21 or older and be enrolled in college or have some college courses. Skills Needed:
  • Communicate, listen and understand the children and youth development program staff. Provide them with correct and timely information and feedback when requested.
  • Decision Making: Youth coordinator will identify problems and discuss the best solution with his or her staff. If a solution cannot be reached, teen coordinator will contact the assistant club director and if needed, the director of club services, in order to resolve the problem.
  • Leadership–Be a Role Model for Co-Workers, youth development staff, volunteers and especially members. Enhance and encourage the members to strive to meet their goals.
  • Personal Initiative to work and to achieve higher levels of responsibility to better serve the youth in all programs.
  • Planning and organizing by coming in and working on special days to accomplish the task and goals needed to implement the programs and activities for our youth such as: Youth of the Year Award, Youth of the Month Award, annual Gala, and other organization events.
  • Promote a Safe, and healthy environment. Making sure that the members know the safety rules of the Club are understood and met.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Be enrolled in college or have some college credits
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Must attend all staff meetings.
  • Responsible for all activities or program areas that you are in charge of from the beginning to the end.
  • Be able to maintain high level of energy.
  • Be adaptable and be flexible to change.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
