Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital seeks an adjunct faculty member for the Clinical Laboratory Science program. The role involves instructing and supporting CLS courses, coordinating with the Program Director and collaborating with faculty across laboratory disciplines.

Responsibilities include teaching content in chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and lab operations, with flexible hours based on enrollment. Prior teaching experience and CAP/state guidelines adherence are required.

Qualifications

• Good organization, written and oral communication skills.
• CAP/state guidelines compliance required for clinical laboratory work.
• 1 year of teaching experience or work in the specialty area required.
• Demonstrate knowledge and competency in the specialty area of instruction.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and supports the CLS education program based on program needs.
• Instruction can include content for clinical chemistry, hematology/hemostasis, immunology/immunohematology/transfusion medicine, microbiology, urine and body fluid analysis, and lab operations.
• Manages classroom activities and applies varied instructional methods.
• Supports program accreditation functions and advisory boards as needed.
• Maintains ongoing professional development and certification and works with partnering institutions.
