Job summary

IllTip is seeking a Load Balancer / WAF Engineer to design and operate cloud-based WAF, DDoS protection, and CDN configurations for large enterprise and government clients. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to create resilient, high-performance traffic paths.

Responsibilities include building custom rules, tuning latency and routing, and supporting incident response for DDoS events. Experience with Cloudflare, Akamai, and F5 BIG-IP is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in cloud WAF or DDoS in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with Cloudflare and/or Akamai edge protection services.
• Experience writing page rules, rate limits or traffic filtering logic.
• Strong grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, load balancing, NAT and routing.
• Experience with on-premises APMs such as F5 BIG-IP, including WAF modules and SSL offloading.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operate cloud WAF, DDoS mitigation, bot protection and CDN configurations on platforms such as Cloudflare and Akamai.
• Build and maintain custom rules, including rate limits, transform rules and traffic filtering logic, to enforce security policy and optimize traffic.
• Tune latency, availability, global routing and failover across application delivery setups.
• Support incident response for DDoS events and WAF bypass attempts.
• Migrate or translate on-premises F5 logic into cloud WAF equivalents.
• Write clear configuration documentation and runbooks for client handoffs and internal support teams.
