Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
• 3–5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments; Windows Server and IIS administration.
• 2–3 years of experience with TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS, NTFS permissions.
• 2–3 years of experience with other cloud providers (GCP) is highly desired.

Job description

ASSYST is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to play a key role in supporting, troubleshooting, and executing cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure initiatives in Tallahassee, Florida (Onsite Role).

This role works across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern infrastructure, and developer pipelines to ensure high availability, security, and peak system performance.

Please Note: Candidates must reside in (or relocate at their own expense to) Tallahassee or the surrounding area. This position requires reporting to the office 5 days a week and Mode of interview:in-person / Face to Face at Tallahassee, FL only.

Responsibilities:

• Support and expand the infrastructure.
• Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC and contractors).
• Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
• Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
• Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
• Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
• Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
• Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
• Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
• Support other IT staff, including developers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field Or equivalent work experience.
• 5 — 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
• 2 — 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
• 3 — 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
• 2 — 3 years of experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• 2 — 3 years of IIS Administration.
• 2 — 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.
• 2 — 3 years of strong professional experience inMicrosoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
• 2 — 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.
• 2 — 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software, Linux OS is highly desired.
• 3 — 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.
