Job summary

A3 Consulting, LLC is seeking a Cloud/System Engineer with an active DoD Top Secret clearance to support Tier 2/3 operations in a defense environment. The role focuses on cloud systems, monitoring, and secure, compliant deployments across IL5/IL6/JWICS.

You will work with DevSecOps, ISSM, and multiple teams to maintain high availability, implement STIG-compliant configurations, and drive rapid issue resolution in a hybrid DC metro setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of DoD System Administration and Engineering experience, preferably with Windows and Linux.
• 3-5+ years in Tier 2/3 support, cloud systems engineering, or DoD system administration.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or better Certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
• Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect - Professional).
• Experience delivering SysAdmin/engineering support within GovCloud and JWICS-like environments.
• Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud virtualization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the team's operational cloud systems expert, ensuring seamless application accessibility and monitoring system health.
• Implement automated monitoring, logging, and real-time dashboards to track cloud resource health and 99.9% availability.
• Ensure 99.9% production service availability through optimized performance and proactive monitoring.
• Provide Tier 2/3 Help Desk support for end-users and security analysts.
• Triage escalated cases with in-depth root cause analysis and complex troubleshooting.
• Resolve cybersecurity vulnerabilities and ensure cloud configurations comply with STIGs and DoD reference architectures.
• Support releases and deployments across IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps and ISSM to coordinate defect resolution and optimize systems.

Cloud/System Engineer w/Top Secret Clearance

A3 Consulting is seeking a Cloud/System Engineer to provide day-to-day Tier 2/3 operational support within a defense-based environment. If you enjoy being responsible for maintaining multi-domain, cloud-based systems and ensuring the continuous operational availability of critical systems and applications, this role is for you!

In this Job You Will

• Serve as the team's operational cloud systems expert, ensure seamless application accessibility, monitor system health, and drive the swift resolution of mission-critical issues.
• Implement automated monitoring, logging, and real-time System Status Dashboards to track the health, performance, and 99.9% availability of cloud resources.
• Ensure end-to-end production service operational availability of at least 99.9% through optimized resource performance, proactive monitoring, and robust system enhancements.
• Monitor application health and interfaces continuously to maintain the continuity of critical mission operations.
• Provide Application Tier 2 and 3 Help Desk/Service Desk Support for end-users and security analysts.
• Take ownership of escalated support cases, conducting initial triage, in-depth root cause analysis, and troubleshooting complex workflow and data issues.
• Resolve cybersecurity vulnerabilities and ensure all cloud configurations strictly comply with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and the DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture.
• Support releases and deployments across DoD Impact Level 5 (IL5), Impact Level 6 (IL6), and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) environments.
• Validate system functionality and collaborate closely with DevSecOps software engineers to implement timely and effective bug fixes.
• Work closely with multiple teams of Developers, Engineers, Administrators, and the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to coordinate defect resolution and optimize systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of DoD System Administration and Engineering experience, preferably in a mixed environment of both Windows and Linux-based systems.
• 3-5+ years of combined experience in Tier 2/3 technical application support, cloud systems engineering, or DoD system administration.
• Certification (DoD 8570/8140): IAT Level II or better Certification Required (e.g., Security+ CE).
• Relevant Cloud Certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional).
• Demonstrated proficiency providing Systems Engineering and Administration support within Government Cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, C2S, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting software CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-based virtualization (e.g., VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes).

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with issue tracking software and Agile backlog management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence).
• Deep understanding of DoD policies, directives, and initiatives as they relate to custom application development, including the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), DISA STIGs, and Section 508 Compliance.
• Strong coordination, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a creative problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Clearance Level

• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Location

• Hybrid (DC Metro Area)
• Must be willing to be onsite 3-4 days a week (Quantico, VA, OR Ft. Meade, MD)

Salary Range

• The salary range of this position is $180,000 - $200,000 commensurate with experience and achievement.
