Job summary

A3 Consulting LLC is seeking a Cloud/System Engineer to provide day-to-day Tier 2/3 operational support in a defense environment. You will maintain multi-domain, cloud-based systems and ensure continuous availability of mission-critical applications.

Required: DoD sysadmin and engineering experience, Windows and Linux, and 3–5+ years in Tier 2/3 support with cloud systems. IAT Level II, AWS GovCloud/JC2S experience, and CI/CD, containers, and virtualization expertise are a must.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of DoD System Administration and Engineering experience, preferably Windows and Linux.
• 3-5+ years in Tier 2/3 technical support, cloud systems engineering, or DoD administration.
• DoD 8570/8140: IAT Level II (Security+ CE) certification required.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps/Architect) preferred.
• Experience in Government Cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, C2S).
• Experience CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-based virtualization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Serve as operational cloud systems expert, ensure application accessibility, monitor health, and resolve mission-critical issues.
• Implement automated monitoring, logging, and real-time dashboards for 99.9% availability of cloud resources.
• Ensure 99.9% production service availability through optimized performance and system enhancements.
• Monitor application health and interfaces to maintain mission continuity.
• Provide Tier 2/3 Help Desk/Service Desk support for end-users and security analysts.
• Triage escalated cases, perform root cause analysis, and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Address cybersecurity vulnerabilities; ensure cloud configurations meet DISA STIGs and DoD reference architecture.
• Support releases and deployments across IL5/IL6/JWICS environments.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps to implement bug fixes and verify functionality.
• Coordinate defect resolution with ISM and engineering teams.
