Job summary

MongoDB’s Storage Layer Services (SLS) team is re-architecting the cloud storage layer and sits at the heart of our next-generation architecture. As Site Reliability Engineering Manager for SLS, you will define SLOs, shape capacity plans, and ensure the reliability, durability, and operational safety of the storage layer powering Atlas.

You’ll lead a small, senior team of SREs in New York City, collaborate with platform leaders, drive multi-year roadmaps, and champion automation to reduce toil

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software and distributed systems experience.
• 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Strong automation and toil-elimination mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of 6-8 engineers, fostering growth and removing blockers.
• Define and drive a technical vision and roadmap for multi-tenant storage systems.
• Contribute hands-on through architecture reviews, PRs, and guiding from operational challenges.
• Serve as primary liaison for Storage Layer Services SRE team with other engineering leaders.
