Role Summary
The Cloud Storage Lead Contractor will lead the design, implementation, and operational management of enterprise cloud storage solutions, with a primary focus on AWS. This role will drive cloud storage strategy, architecture, automation, resiliency, performance optimization, and operational best practices. A key focus will be leading FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSx ONTAP) implementations in AWS to support large-scale application and data migrations. The contractor will partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, DevOps, and Application teams to deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective storage solutions across hybrid and cloud-native environments. Azure storage experience is beneficial but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise cloud storage solutions, primarily within AWS.
- Design and implement FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSx ONTAP) solutions to support application and data migrations.
- Develop cloud storage strategy, architecture, standards, and operational best practices.
- Build scalable, highly available, secure, and resilient cloud storage architectures.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Monitor and optimize cloud storage environments for performance, availability, reliability, and cost.
- Support large-scale application and data migration initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, DevOps, and Application teams on cloud transformation and platform initiatives.
- Implement security controls, identity management, access policies, and cloud security best practices.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and data resiliency strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, storage, networking, and service-related issues.
- Support application deployment and integration across cloud environments.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Document cloud architectures, configurations, storage environments, and operational processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cloud engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
- Strong experience with enterprise cloud storage solutions and storage architecture.
- Hands-on experience with AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSx ONTAP).
- Experience supporting application and data migrations in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, access management, and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

- Experience with Azure storage services and Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and enterprise data center environments.
- Experience with large-scale cloud transformation and migration programs.
- Experience with additional AWS storage services and data protection technologies.
