Job summary

Google Seattle, WA, USA is seeking a Software Engineering Manager II for Google Cloud Compute. You will lead a team of engineers, own project goals, and contribute to product strategy while developing your team.

You will set priorities, coach engineers, evolve the technical roadmap, and review designs. The role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your team(s).
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
