Job summary

Verizon is seeking an experienced Storage Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise storage across its private cloud infrastructure. You will define storage strategies, architect multi-protocol solutions, and guide PoCs, vendor evaluations, and IaC automation to enable Storage-as-a-Service.

Hybrid work with three days in the office enables collaboration while maintaining flexibility. Strong experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, iSCSI/NVMe/TCP, NFS, and S3 APIs is essential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of work experience required.
• Eight+ years of relevant infra storage experience required.
• Strong in block, file, and object storage protocols.
• Experience with Linux and OpenStack/Kubernetes integration.
• Experience with storage monitoring, PoC testing, and vendor evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Architect multi-protocol storage solutions (SAN/NAS/S3) for diverse workloads.
• Lead storage platform design, lifecycle, and integration with OpenStack and Kubernetes.
• Create High-Level and Low-Level designs for storage consumption via iSCSI, NVMe/TCP, NFS, and S3 APIs.
• Drive PoC testing, vendor evaluations, and RFPs; assess new storage tech.
• Develop IaC automation to deliver Storage-as-a-Service and policy-driven data protection.
• Advise production teams on capacity planning and SLA alignment.
• Lead projects to reduce TCO and modernize network storage architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to present storage strategies and recommendations.
