Job summary

Nexiva Inc is seeking a Cloud Specialist to join our Jackson, MS onsite team. You will design and optimize cloud architectures for IAAS/PAAS, ensuring security and data privacy while helping migrate on-prem workloads to public clouds.

The role requires strong experience with major cloud platforms, automation, scripting, and solid VM management across Windows and Linux environments. Onsite collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with automation and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of cloud networking, VPCs, and firewalls.
• Advanced VM management, Windows Server/Active Directory, and Linux administration.

Responsibilities

• Develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy.
• Moves existing on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud platforms safely. Monitors and analyzes cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools.
• Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology.

Required Skills/Experience

• Proficiency in major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience with automation and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of cloud networking, virtual private clouds (VPCs), and firewalls.
• Advanced VM management, Windows Server/Active Directory, and Linux administration.

Preferred/Not Required

• Preferred skills/experience 5 6+ years working with AWS or Microsoft Azure. Prior government or regulated industry experience.
