Overview: (Key personnel proposal opportunity)

Agile Defense seeks a Cloud Solutions Architect to lead application migration and modernization across private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. Responsibilities include implementing IaaS, PaaS, CaaS, and API services for a federal client. The role utilizes SAFe methodology to align and collaborate with Agile teams, defining roles, artifacts, and processes for development efforts.

Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance required at application time.

Location: Winchester, VA, with regular travel to Washington DC.

Required Responsibilities/Duties:

• Designing and implementing scalable microservices, leading development teams, ensuring security, conducting meetings with government stakeholders.
• Experience with programming (C#, Java, Python), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), cloud development (AWS), and microservices best practices.
• Participating in planning, solution definition, and exploring alternatives.
• Enabling Continuous Delivery pipelines through proper design and advocacy.
• Defining subsystems, interfaces, deployment strategies, and communication requirements.
• Collaborating with customers and stakeholders to establish solution intent and documentation.
• Setting critical non-functional requirements and participating in their definition.
• Architecting solutions within AWS and private/hybrid clouds, including VPCs, networks, security, disaster recovery, and automation.
• Building scalable, secure distributed systems using modern technologies, Cloud Native, microservices, and API-First patterns.
• Supporting proposals, white papers, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Performing cloud migrations (rehost, re-platform, re-engineer) into multi/hybrid cloud environments.
• Managing cloud storage, backups, and analytics services.
• Designing and engineering DevSecOps solutions with tools like Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, GitOps, Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Automating CI/CD, cloud management, provisioning, security, and optimization tasks.
• Building APIs for cloud solutions and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate or higher, or equivalent.
• Security+ Certification.
