Role - Cloud Solution Architect (Data Eco-System)
Location: 1220 Bank Street, Richmond, VA | Web Cam Interview Only | Remote
Note: Client is looking for a Cloud Solution Architect - Data Services Focused who is willing to convert to full-time in the future. 100% Remote but must adhere to EST hours during the week.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on solution development on AWS cloud using Data Engineering Services and integrating with various internal and external applications. (12+ years)
- Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs specifically tailored for cloud environments (e.g., AWS API Gateway). (12+ years)
- Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, and AWS Data Lake integrations or similar. (12+ years)
- Automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudFormation. (12+ years)
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, version control, and collaboration tools. (12+ years)
- Data Ingestion and Transformation using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, AWS DMS, Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, Amazon AppFlow. (10+ years)
- Setting up schedulers using Amazon EventBridge, Apache Airflow, or time-based schedules for jobs and crawlers (DynamoDB, Kinesis, RDS, etc.). (10+ years)
- Implementing data transformation services based on requirements using AWS Glue, Lambda, etc. (10+ years)
- Using orchestration services to build workflows for data ETL pipelines (e.g., Lambda, EventBridge, Amazon MWAA). (10+ years)
- AWS Cloud Solution Architect and Data Engineer Certifications are highly desired.
- AWS Data Zone experience is highly desired.
About The Role
The Cloud Solution Architect will support a modern cloud-based ecosystem, implementing solutions that enhance business decision-making and processes, aligned with enterprise goals. Responsibilities include developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and applications, enabling collaboration, automation, and efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop solutions on AWS cloud, integrating with internal and external applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into actionable solution components.
- Design and develop scalable, resilient cloud architectures using cloud-native services.
- Develop front-end and back-end components within cloud/hybrid infrastructures.
- Create comprehensive solution documentation.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automation.
- Ensure solution quality, security, and compliance.
- Manage configuration and environment consistency using tools like AWS CloudFormation.
- Apply DevOps principles to streamline SDLC and automation.
- Deploy solutions, establish monitoring, and ensure operational stability.
- Collaborate across teams to meet business needs.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications
- Expertise in cloud solutions, translating requirements into tested workflows.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms, leveraging native services.
- API development for cloud environments.
- Understanding of cloud networking and security (VPCs, IAM, etc.).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Serverless computing experience (AWS Lambda, event-driven architecture).
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Scripting skills (Python, Node.js).
- Monitoring and logging setup.
- Strong DevOps practices and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
- Adherence to agency policies and procedures.
Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional and at least one AWS Specialty certification. Experience with AWS Data Zone is a plus.
