Job summary

VTG in Chantilly, VA seeks a Cloud advisor with 1-4 years experience to support cloud architecture reviews and oversight for government programs. The role covers Cloud I duties and entry-level technical advisory tasks in a SETA context.

Responsibilities progress through Cloud II and Cloud III with increasing scope, including reviews, governance, and executive briefings. TS/SCI with Poly required for security clearance considerations.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Google Cloud Digital Leader; DoD/IC: Security+.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessment of contractor cloud solutions for alignment with requirements and standards.
• Support analysis of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) from an oversight perspective.
• Help maintain technical documentation, requirements traceability, and assessment artifacts.
• Participate in technical reviews, working groups, and cloud architecture discussions.
• Track cloud-related risks, issues, and action items under senior guidance.
• Support coordination between government stakeholders and cloud service providers.
• Review contractor cloud implementation plans, migration strategies, and technical deliverables.
• Evaluate compliance with cloud security, governance, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Advise program leadership on cloud tradeoffs, risks, and integration impacts.
• Support Agile and DevSecOps processes as a government technical advisor.
• Prepare cloud-focused technical briefings and recommendations.
• Lead government reviews of contractor cloud designs, roadmaps, and modernization efforts.
• Advise leadership on cloud scalability, security, resiliency, and cost considerations.
• Support development of cloud governance frameworks, technical standards, and evaluation criteria.
• Participate in senior technical reviews, milestone events, and executive briefings.
• Assess alignment of cloud solutions with mission needs and enterprise cloud strategies.
• Mentor junior and mid-level cloud software experts.
• Support acquisition and source selection activities with cloud technical expertise.

Overview VTG is looking for a Cloud professional in Chantilly, VA. (Note: Contingent upon program award). Cloud I provides entry-level technical advisory support to government programs, assisting with oversight of cloud-based software systems, documentation reviews, and compliance assessments in a SETA capacity. Cloud II provides independent technical advisory support, evaluating cloud-based software solutions, architectures, and contractor performance to ensure mission alignment, security, and scalability. Cloud III serves as a trusted technical advisor to government leadership, providing strategic oversight and guidance across complex, cloud-based software programs in a SETA role.

What will you do?

Cloud I

* Support review of cloud-based software architectures and design documentation

• Assist with assessment of contractor cloud solutions for alignment with requirements and standards
• Support analysis of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) from an oversight perspective

• Support Agile and DevSecOps processes as a government technical advisor

• Support development of cloud governance frameworks, technical standards, and evaluation criteria
• Participate in senior technical reviews, milestone events, and executive briefings

* 5-9 years of experience supporting software-intensive or cloud-based systems

• Strong understanding of cloud architectures, shared responsibility models, and service offerings
• Experience performing technical oversight of contractor cloud solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• (one or more): AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305 or equivalent), Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
• Preferred Qualifications: CompTIA Security+ or higher, SAFe Agilist or Agile-related certification

Cloud III Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred

• 10+ years of experience supporting software-intensive or cloud-centric programs
• Deep understanding of enterprise cloud architectures and multi-cloud environments
• Proven experience providing technical oversight and advisory support (non-developer role)
• Strong leadership, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills
• (one or more) AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Preferred Qualifications: CISSP or CCSP, DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance certifications
• Optional: SAFe Agilist, ITIL, or Cloud Security Alliance certifications
