Job summary

Unity Compass in Quantico, VA is seeking a Cloud Architect/Engineer with 5+ years of enterprise experience to design, deploy, and optimize cloud and virtualization solutions. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and Security+ or equivalent.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of enterprise systems across Linux, Windows, and middleware, guiding architecture from design through deployment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience deploying enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud and virtualization concepts.
• Virtual machine technologies and clustering/high availability.
• Middleware and enterprise application deployment experience.
• Must meet DoD 8570.01-M ITA II requirements and Security+ or equivalent.
• Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance at contract start.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, integrate, and support enterprise applications and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive systems perspective across hardware, software, networking, virtualization, and middleware.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, analysts, programmers, administrators, and technicians to design, test, evaluate, and implement enterprise solutions.
• Analyze system and network performance and recommend infrastructure or configuration adjustments.
• Support cloud and virtualized infrastructure architecture and engineering.
• Design and support highly available and clustered environments.
• Deploy and maintain enterprise applications and supporting middleware.
• Maintain system logs, configuration records, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex system and application performance issues.
• Support operating-system and application-level engineering activities.
• Evaluate system dependencies, capacity requirements, performance characteristics, and integration requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Provide technical recommendations and documentation to Government and contractor stakeholders.

Position Summary

The Cloud Architect/Engineer provides systems architecture and engineering expertise across enterprise computing environments, with emphasis on cloud, virtualization, operating systems, middleware, and enterprise applications. The position evaluates relationships, dependencies, performance, and requirements among hardware and software components and supports the design, deployment, testing, integration, and optimization of enterprise systems.
