Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate an enterprise NOC/SOC within an AWS Landing Zone. You will implement secure cloud environments, support migration of a training system, and deploy vendor solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.

You should have 5+ years of cloud/software engineering, strong AWS experience, IaC proficiency (CDK or Terraform), and a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Hybrid networking expertise is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in software/cloud engineering or related field
• Proven cloud engineering proficiency across AWS/Azure/Oracle/Google Cloud
• IaC experience with CDK or Terraform
• Programming in Python and/or TypeScript; familiarity with Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS/DynamoDB
• Strong security, IAM, VPC, KMS, networking, load balancing knowledge
• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring (CloudWatch/OpenSearch), and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy an enterprise NOC/SOC in an AWS Landing Zone
• Design, build, and deploy a secure cloud environment
• Support the migration of their Training Environment in the AWS Landing Zone
• Deploy multiple containerized software solutions from 3rd party vendors
• Maintain EKS clusters
• Establish hybrid networking between on‑prem and cloud deployments
• Develop and implement a containerized Landing Zone solution, establishing governance and a secure governance framework for tenant workload management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud
• Cloud/AWS experience includes:
• - Infrastructure as code (IaC) - CDK (preferred) or Terraform
• - Programming Languages - Python, Typescript
• - Core services - Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS/DynamoDB
• - Security - IAM, VPC, KMS
• - Networking - routing, security, DNS, Load balancing
