Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned cloud/DevOps engineer to design and deploy cloud-based solutions in asecure enterprise environment in Maryland. You will collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to implement scalable web services, manage Kubernetes-based deployments, and drive CI/CD practices across the program lifecycle.

The role requires TS/SCI with CI polygraph eligibility, strong AWS experience, IaC (CDK/CloudFormation), and solid scripting in Python/Perl.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or equivalent with 12+ years in systems engineering or related field.
• Masters degree with 10+ years experience.
• Active TS/SCI eligibility with CI Polygraph.
• Experience with Cloud Services (C2S) and AWS for enterprise apps.
• Cloud Admin Skills in AWS (EC2, ELB/ALB, S3, VPC, CLI).
• Experience with EKS, Kubernetes, Openshift, CI/CD pipelines.
• Linux OS experience; networking knowledge; REST APIs.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our engineering and infrastructure teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the program.
• Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Building and designing web services in the cloud.
• Designing and implementing cloud-based platforms throughout the program.
• Coordinate with DTP team to prioritize product backlogs for sprints and releases.
• Assist with monitoring & reporting technical variances; facilitate resolution of technical issues that adversely impact successful product delivery or total system cost.
• Assist with identifying and supporting external dependencies where needed.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience with 12+ years in systems engineering or other relevant field.
• Masters degree with 10+ years experience.
• Additional years experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must have an active TS/SCI eligibility with the ability/willingness to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
• Experience with Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
• Knowledge of classified environments security enclave
• Experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS, for enterprise applications
• Cloud Admin Skills in AWS -- ec2, elb/alb, s3, efs, vpc, aws cli, cloud theory
• Experience with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
• Experience with container deployment platforms such as Kubernetes, Openshift
• Experience with SecDevOps and CI/CD pipeline
• Experience working with Linux operating system.
• Knowledge of web services: API, REST
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols
• Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.
• Experience developing basic tooling and scripting: UNIX shell, Python, Perl or similar.
• IaC coding scripting (CDK/Cloud formation preferred)
• Salt (preferred) or some other config management tool (Ansible preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, systems engineers, and architects.
• Ability to work well/collaborate with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

Demonstrates expertise in cloud-based solutions, particularly with AWS and Commercial Cloud Services, while effectively collaborating across teams to ensure successful product delivery. Proficient in cloud administration, container deployment, and implementing CI/CD pipelines, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
