Job summary

Ring, part of the Amazon Devices family, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build large-scale cloud services used by millions of Ring customers. You will design distributed systems, implement robust code, and work with streaming video, event handling and high-performance computing.

The role focuses on architecture, development and operations of cloud systems across the Ring ecosystem, with emphasis on scalable, reliable software and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience with OO design/development principles.
• Experience with RESTful architecture for web services.
• 5+ years in languages like Go, Java, Scala, Python, Ruby and open-source tech.

Responsibilities

• Design and document distributed systems and microservices.
• Implement robust and maintainable code with clear documentation.
• Deliver customer value in iterative fashion toward longer term goals.
• Communicate status and changes to stakeholders.
• Implement test automation via unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to bring Ring technology to market.
