Job summary

Wyetech, LLC is seeking a skilled data-science/ML-oriented software engineer to support federal government customers. You will design, implement, and test features for big data repositories, train teams on Apache Accumulo, and build RESTful interfaces for content metadata.

Expect work across Windows/Linux, cloud platforms, and modern data processing frameworks. The role requires TS/SCI with poly, 7+ years in programming (Java/C++/Python), and 1+ year with distributed systems and cloud services.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph.
  • 7+ years of programming experience across Java, C++, or Python in the last 10 years.
  • 5+ years designing and developing applications in Windows or UNIX/Linux in the last 7 years.
  • 1+ year using database technologies such as Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, Google Cloud Bigtable, DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Postgres, or equivalents in the last 3 years.
  • 1+ year using distributed batch- or stream-processing solutions such as Spark, Flink, Beam, Databricks, or cloud-native services in the last 3 years.
  • 1+ year using distributed file or object storage systems such as S3, GCS, or equivalent in the last 3 years.
  • 1+ year experience with requirements analysis and OO design in the last 3 years.
  • Past 2 years, 6 months development with Kubernetes/AWS/Azure/Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and test new features and capabilities for Apache/Accumulo to support large content and metadata repositories.
  • Conduct Apache/Accumulo training sessions with hands-on configuration and programming exercises.
  • Develop web-based user interfaces to support search and presentation of operational data and REST-based services for content and metadata repositories.
  • Develop algorithms for large-scale operational metadata, exploring parallel programming for analytics on petabyte-scale data in a secure manner.

Telework: Possible up to 2 days a week if tasking is available. Not guaranteed.

Capabilities
  • Design, implement and test new features and capabilities for Apache/Accumulo needed to support large content and metadata repositories.
  • Conducting Apache/Accumulo training sessions, which include hands-on software configuration and programming exercises.
  • Developing web-based user interfaces to support search and presentation of operational data and developing web services that provide REST-based APIs to the content and metadata
    repositories.
  • Developing algorithms to operate on large volumes of operational metadata. This work will investigate advanced parallel programming techniques for implementing analytics that can
    effectively run on petabyte-scale operational data set in a secure manner. The mission relevant
    analytics will be designed, implemented, tested for deployment in the content and metadata
    repositories
Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
  • Within the last ten (10) years, a minimum of seven (7) years experience combined programming with all of the following languages: Java, C++, or Python
  • Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of five (5) years experience designing and developing applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux operating environment
  • Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using database technologies such as Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, Google Cloud Bigtable, Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Postgres, or equivalent technologies.
  • Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed batch- or stream-processing solutions such as Ray, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Databricks, cloud-native data-processing services, or equivalent technologies.
  • Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed file or object storage systems such as HDFS, Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or equivalent technologies.
  • Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with requirements analysis and design for one (1) or more object-oriented systems
  • Within the past two (2) years, six (6) months development experience with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Computing Services
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; an associate's degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years programming experience or five (5) years programming experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

$87.78 - $124.84 an hour

Pay Range: $87.78 - $124.84 per hour*
