Job summary

Amazon Security in Arlington, VA is seeking an Applied Scientist to leverage advanced analytics and machine learning to protect cloud infrastructure from security threats. You will develop anomaly detection models, predictive algorithms, and real-time analysis systems that mitigate cyber threats across AWS.

You will collaborate with software and security engineers, translate complex findings into actionable insights, and contribute to scalable security solutions using AWS services like SageMaker

Qualifications

• 3+ years building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master's with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML.
• Experience with patents or publications in top conferences/journals.
• Proficient in Java, C++, Python.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, HPC.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale security data using statistics and data mining techniques.
• Create automated real-time pattern recognition and risk assessment systems.
• Build data pipelines and ETL processes for massive security datasets.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable security insights.
• Run experiments to assess risk of security responses.
• Expand LLM agent pipelines and analyze post mortems to prevent recurrences.
