Job summary

Amazon Security in Maryland is seeking an Applied Scientist to design, build, and deploy AI/ML systems that detect and mitigate cybersecurity threats at scale across AWS infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI/ML systems that process threat data at scale.
• Expand and improve existing LLM agent pipelines for automated threat detection and response.
• Conduct thorough data analyses and develop prototypes for detecting unknown security problems.
• Analyze post-mortems to understand data signals that could have prevented incidents.
• Build data pipelines and ETL processes to handle massive security datasets.
