Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead security across AWS, Azure, and GCP, partnering with engineering and business teams to drive risk-based security initiatives.

The role demands 5+ years in cloud security, hands-on multi-cloud experience (Azure preferred), and the ability to independently drive projects to completion. This hybrid contract position is based in Rockville, MD, with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of cloud security experience.
• 2-3+ years leading security initiatives or serving in a lead capacity.
• Strong experience with GCP, AWS, and Azure (Azure preferred).
• Would consider candidate with AWS and Azure but GCP security experience is highly desired as well.
• Ability to take requirements, work independently, and drive projects to completion.
• Deep understanding of cloud security risks, vulnerabilities, remediation strategies, and best practices.
• Experience evaluating cloud services and recommending security controls.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Evaluate cloud services and identify security risks.
• Recommend and implement preventative and detective security controls.
• Drive security findings and remediation efforts to resolution.
• Lead large-scale cloud security initiatives.
• Deploy and manage security tools such as AWS GuardDuty.
• Design and establish secure cloud foundations, including GCP landing zones.
• Provide guidance and leadership to security and engineering teams.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure security requirements are met.
