Merck in Rahway, NJ is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and automate security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will collaborate with Cloud, Application, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure secure and consistent cloud deployments.

You will build guardrails with IaC, integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, and address misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and access controls. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 8 years of cloud architecture and security experience.
• Hands-on IAM, networking, encryption, and workload security.
• Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Git, CI/CD, scripting languages experience.
• Understanding of Kubernetes and container security.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across AWS, Azure, and/ or GCP.
• Secure cloud identity, networking, workloads, data, containers, and APIs.
• Build security guardrails using IaC and policy-as-code.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Identify and remediate cloud misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and excessive permissions.
• Support cloud security monitoring, logging, threat detection, and incident response.
• Provide practical security guidance and architecture reviews with engineering teams.
