Job summary

Merck is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and automate security controls across enterprise cloud environments. You will partner with Cloud, Application, DevOps and Security teams to ensure secure and consistent cloud services.

Responsibilities include IAM, networking, data protection, and CI/CD integration. The role requires strong hands-on cloud security experience across AWS/Azure/GCP, IaC, and container security, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of cloud architecture and security in AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Hands-on IAM, networking, encryption, secrets management, workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Secure cloud identity, networking, data, containers, and APIs.
• Build security guardrails using IaC and policy-as-code.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Identify and remediate misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and attack paths.
• Support cloud security monitoring, logging, threat detection, and incident response.
• Partner with engineering teams to provide security guidance and reviews.
