Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and automate security controls across enterprise cloud environments.

You will partner with Cloud, Application, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure secure and consistent deployment of services. You will design controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP, securing identities, networking, workloads, data, containers, and APIs while integrating security into CI/CD and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of cloud security architecture and implementation experience.
• Hands-on with IAM, networking, encryption, secrets management, and workloads.
• IaC technologies experience (Terraform, etc.).
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD, Python/PowerShell/Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container security.
• Familiar with Wiz, AWS Security Hub, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Secure cloud identity, networking, workloads, data, containers, and APIs.
• Build security guardrails using IaC and policy-as-code.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment processes.
• Identify and remediate misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and attack paths.
• Support cloud security monitoring, logging, threat detection, and incident response.
• Partner with engineering to provide security guidance and architecture reviews.
