Job summary

Piper Companies in RTP, NC is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to secure multi-cloud environments across AWS and Azure. You will implement cloud-native security controls and collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to strengthen the organization's security posture.

The role requires hands-on experience with cloud security tools, IAM, threat detection, and governance. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in cybersecurity, cloud security, or information security engineering.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS and Azure environments.
• Experience with cloud security platforms such as Prisma Cloud, Wiz, Lacework.
• Strong IAM, network security, encryption, and governance knowledge.
• Experience with vulnerability management, SIEM, and security monitoring.
• Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; relevant cloud/security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS and Azure.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure for threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance.
• Partner with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices throughout the SDLC.
• Conduct cloud security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability management activities.
• Implement IAM controls, security policies, and governance frameworks.
• Support incident response efforts related to cloud-based security events and investigations.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, standards, and procedures for cloud platforms.
• Assist with regulatory compliance initiatives and cloud security audits.
