Job summary

Alerus seeks a Cloud Security Engineer to lead security initiatives across cloud platforms and internally developed apps. You will design security controls, drive SSDLC/DevSecOps, and partner with technology and business teams to embed security throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include threat modeling, vulnerability management, CI/CD security, incident response, and security automation. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential in this senior role in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7 years of information security experience, including 3-5 years in cloud security engineering.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Security, GIAC, CSSLP, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience securing Azure, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and other cloud environments.
• Experience with DevSecOps, secure development, vulnerability management, IAM, incident response, and threat detection.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud platforms, SaaS environments, and enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain security standards, architectures, policies, and procedures.
• Manage cloud security technologies, IAM, Zero Trust, and security posture management.
• Perform security assessments, threat modeling, architecture reviews, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
• Establish and support SSDLC and DevSecOps practices, including secure coding standards and CI/CD security integration.
• Monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security threats, incidents, and IOCs across cloud and app environments.
• Automate security processes and enhance monitoring, logging, and reporting with scripting, APIs, AI, and IaC.
• Support disaster recovery, regulatory compliance, audits, and third-party security reviews.
