Job summary

Alerus is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to lead cloud and application security initiatives across our systems. You will design and implement security controls, mentor teams on SSDLC and DevSecOps, and coordinate remediation for vulnerabilities.

The role requires experience in cloud security architecture, IAM, threat detection, and incident response, with a focus on aligning security with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information security or related field.
• 5-7 years of information security experience including 3-5 years in cloud security engineering.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Security, GIAC, CSSLP or AWS Security Specialty.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud security controls across cloud platforms and applications.
• Develop and maintain security standards, architectures, policies, and procedures.
• Manage cloud security technologies, IAM, Zero Trust, and security posture management.
• Perform security assessments, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Establish SSDLC and DevSecOps practices including secure coding, code reviews, and CI/CD security integration.
• Monitor and respond to security threats across cloud and application environments.
• Automate security processes and enhance monitoring using scripting and IaC tools.
• Support regulatory compliance, audits, and third-party security reviews.
• Provide security leadership and risk guidance for enterprise initiatives.
• Coordinate remediation of identified risks and vulnerabilities.
