Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer in Tempe, AZ to lead cloud security initiatives across platforms and internal apps. You will design and implement security controls, drive SSDLC and DevSecOps, and coordinate with IT and business teams on risk reduction and compliance.

You will manage IAM, Zero Trust, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response while enhancing security automation and monitoring across cloud and application environments.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in information security with 3-5 years in cloud security engineering.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Security, GIAC, CSSLP, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience securing Azure, Microsoft 365, Salesforce and other cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of security automation, IAM, threat detection, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud platforms and enterprise apps.
• Develop security standards, architectures, policies, and procedures.
• Manage cloud security technologies, IAM, and Zero Trust initiatives.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
• Lead SSDLC and DevSecOps practices with secure coding, reviews, and CI/CD integration.
• Monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security threats and incidents.
• Automate security processes with scripting, APIs, and IaC tooling.
• Support audits, regulatory compliance, and third-party reviews.
• Provide risk guidance and reporting for technology initiatives.
