Job summary

DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking a Security Engineer to join our security team in a hybrid role. This hands-on position focuses on implementing security controls, automating workflows, and embedding security into the SDLC.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to harden cloud deployments, manage IAM, and respond to incidents. A B.S. in a related field is a plus, with certifications such as Security+ or AWS Security Specialty welcomed.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in cybersecurity engineering or cloud security roles.
• Experience applying NIST 800-53, SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks, zero trust.
• Ability to author technical documentation clearly.
• Experience with cloud IAM and network security.
• Strong collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Familiarity with incident response and threat detection.

Responsibilities

• Apply security architecture principles to optimize product security.
• Develop automation workflows and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Write runbooks, diagrams, and deployment specs for secure cloud deployments.
• Embed security into SDLC and production systems (DevSecOps).
• Identify risk gaps using NIST and apply remediation.
• Assist incident response and develop detections for threats.
