Job summary

Root Access in New York seeks a Simulation & Software Engineer to lead scalable simulation infrastructure. You will automate electrical, thermal, and electromagnetic simulations and transform outputs into training data for ML models.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python programming for reliable automated systems.
• Experience with physics-based simulations or scientific computing.
• Experience with parallel computing, orchestration, and cloud/HPC infrastructure.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, versioning and reproducible workflows.
• Understanding of numerical methods and circuit/electromagnetics/thermal domains.
• Ability to diagnose solver failures and separate software/ modelling issues.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated simulation pipelines, parameterization, solvers, and results extraction.
• Scale workloads across local and cloud compute with distributed execution and scheduling.
• Develop workflows for parameter sweeps and design-space exploration.
• Implement checks for convergence, physical validity, and dataset quality.
• Track configurations, provenance, and versions to ensure reproducibility.
• Optimize throughput, costs, and pipeline reliability.
• Collaborate with ML and hardware teams to prioritize simulations that improve model performance.
• Validate simulation results against physical measurements with hardware engineers.
