Job summary

Cisco is seeking a senior engineering leader for the ACM configuration platform in a hybrid role based in Denver, CO or Raleigh, NC, with remote USA eligibility. You will define architecture, drive investments, and lead high-impact projects across cloud platforms and fleet management.

You will mentor engineers, ensure reliability, and set standards for observability and scalability in a fast-growing environment. Strong collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years related experience or Master's with 6+ years or PhD with 3+ years.
• Experience building and operating large-scale production systems with Go and/or Python.
• Applied experience designing resilient, scalable distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, GovCloud).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Puppet, Terraform, or Ansible at scale.
• Proven experience leading major technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction beyond immediate teams.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term technical direction for ACM’s configuration platform.
• Lead and deliver complex projects spanning configuration delivery, disaster recovery, fleet management, and platform reliability.
• Establish standards for code quality, design, observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers across levels through code reviews, design feedback, pairing and coaching.
• Own production reliability by providing technical judgment during major incidents.
