Job summary

You will collaborate with engineering on API design, governance, CLI/SDK tooling, and developer experience across platforms to ensure consistency and speed, while advancing OpenAPI and secure auth standards.

Qualifications

• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience designing REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs and delivering developer tools like CLIs, SDKs, and Terraform providers
• Expertise in API Gateway architectures, traffic management, and OAuth2/mTLS authentication
• Proven track record evolving mature developer platforms and managing breaking-change lifecycles
• Familiar with LLM function calling, AI agent frameworks, and Model Context Protocol

Responsibilities

• Crafting and driving the multi-year vision, product strategy, and execution roadmap for Akamai Cloud developer tooling
• Modernizing brownfield enterprise API paths while elevating API quality and platform performance
• Pioneering next-generation developer interfaces for AI agents and LLM-driven workflows
• Collaborating with engineering on API design guidelines, OpenAPI standards, and schema governance
• Overseeing product development for official developer tools including CLI, SDKs, and Infrastructure as Code providers
• Influencing strategy to unify the Developer Experience across platforms for consistency
