Job summary

GeoControl Systems, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team supporting NASA’s deep space exploration initiatives from Houston, TX. The role emphasizes building cloud-native platform services and ensuring secure, scalable cloud deployments across major cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in the field, strong Kubernetes production experience, proficient GitLab usage, and solid Go/Python skills. Remote-friendly with opportunities for flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area.
• 10+ years of experience in the field or related area.
• Kubernetes in production experience.
• Very proficient with GitLab.
• Hands-on CI/CD tools experience.
• Observability tools such as Grafana and SuperSet.
• Terraform for infrastructure automation (IaC).
• Extensive Linux experience; Windows preferred.
• Go and Python programming languages.
• SQL and basic R is preferable.
• Experience with ML lifecycle management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native platform services across three major cloud environments.
• Promote cloud-native development best practices within the org.
• Administer NASA cloud networks and deploy COTS and Cloud Native apps.
• Write and review quality code with peers.
• Work with Managed Kubernetes across cloud providers.
• Integrate AI and data services with Kubernetes apps.
• Identify opportunities to create enterprise-grade platform services.
• Collaborate with NASA security and compliance teams.
• Engage with NASA missions like Orion and Artemis.
