Responsibilities include building and promoting best practices, managing NASA cloud networks, and integrating AI/data services with Kubernetes apps. The role requires strong Kubernetes production experience, GitLab proficiency, and hands-on IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu, plus Linux expertise.

Qualifications

• Requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to sensitive information.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of recent related work experience.
• Strong production Kubernetes experience.
• Proficient with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on with IaC using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Extensive Linux experience.
• Experience with Python and SQL; R preferred.
• Expert in Go and Python.
• Working knowledge of ML model lifecycle and Agile methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native platform services across all major cloud environments.
• Promote best practices for cloud-native app development within the org.
• Administer NASA cloud networks and manage deployment requests.
• Write high-quality code and perform peer reviews.
• Work with managed Kubernetes across cloud providers.
• Integrate cloud AI and data services with Kubernetes apps.
• Identify opportunities to create enterprise-grade, multi-tenant platform services.
• Collaborate with NASA security/compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Engage with NASA spaceflight missions (Orion, Lunar Gateway, Artemis).
• Other duties as assigned.
