Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with AWS experience and strong Linux skills to contribute to the development of cloud-based, big data solutions. You will write code in Python or Go and help integrate open-source components into scalable software.

The role requires autonomous problem solving, collaboration with Architects, and a hybrid work pattern with some in-office time in Columbia, MD to support team goals.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; security clearance not required on day 1 but will be processed for one.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience, or Master’s with 0 years, or HS with 6 years of related experience.
• Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes or vendor flavor of Kubernetes, Ansible, storage layers (Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, etc.).
• Programming experience in Python or Go.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, shells, networks, and security; proficient in Shell/Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week in the Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and improve existing code bases to enhance robustness and efficiency.
• Define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud using modern IaC tools.
• Design and implement core architecture for software from prototype to production.
• Other duties as assigned.
