INSPYR Solutions is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure) to own an enterprise Azure environment. The role is remote in the United States and contract-to-hire, requiring 8+ years in engineering with 5+ years in Azure.

The engineer will design, deploy, and optimize Azure infrastructure, lead incident response, and drive platform improvements. Strong leadership, problem solving, and communication skills are essential, with experience in IaC and Azure monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to own enterprise Azure production environments and drive improvements.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep), automation, CI/CD, and Azure monitoring tools.

• Ability to lead incident response and root-cause analyses across teams.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure) to take full technical ownership and accountability for an enterprise Azure environment. This individual must be a hands-on engineer who can independently manage platform health, proactively identify and resolve issues, lead complex troubleshooting efforts, and drive continuous improvements. The ideal candidate combines deep Azure infrastructure expertise with strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of the Azure platform, ensuring reliability, performance, security, and operational stability.
• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and core cloud services.
• Independently identify infrastructure risks, troubleshoot complex issues, develop solutions, and drive improvements without constant direction.
• Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts across networking, security, application, and infrastructure teams, ensuring timely resolution.
• Provide technical leadership, coordinate cross-functional resources, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Proactively evaluate Azure architecture, recommend improvements, establish priorities, and implement solutions that enhance platform performance and scalability.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Monitor platform health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and related tools.
• Maintain cloud security, disaster recovery, business continuity, automation, and operational best practices.
• Proactively communicate platform status, technical risks, incidents, and recommended solutions to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud engineering experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Proven experience independently owning and maintaining an enterprise Azure production environment, with accountability for platform health, stability, and continuous improvement.
• Deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, including VMs, Storage, VNets, Entra ID, Azure security, and core platform services.
• Strong Azure networking experience, including VPNs, DNS, ExpressRoute, routing, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, and cross-functional technical resolution.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep), automation, CI/CD, and Azure monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and solution-design skills, with the ability to evaluate technical risks, challenge approaches, and independently drive improvements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide proactive updates, elevate issues, and effectively engage technical teams and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Lead Azure Engineer, Senior Cloud Engineer, or hands-on Azure Solutions Architect with direct platform ownership.
• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305).
• Experience with AKS, Kubernetes, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise or regulated environments.
