Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to and lead the Engineering Platform efforts. You will collaborate with platform teams to plan, deliver, and operate reliable, secure technologies enabling large‑scale solutions across Starbucks systems.

The role requires technical leadership, deep domain knowledge in cloud architectures, and strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams to shape strategy and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience in platform engineering and product development teams.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, infrastructure, and security.
• Ability to quickly learn cloud-based technologies (e.g., managed data services, eventing, secrets management).
• Expertise in AWS or Azure cloud computing concepts.
• Hands‑on coding and code review skills (Golang preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with platform engineering teams to plan, deliver, and operate solutions.
• Contribute to technology strategy and roadmaps for new capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership across teams and domains.
• Build reliable, secure, and scalable services in the cloud.
• Lead code reviews and mentoring for engineers.
