Job summary

Bloomlife is seeking a junior to mid-level Cloud/Platform Engineer to join a fast-growing, international team building healthcare software on AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Bash and Python. This remote or hybrid role suits engineers who love infrastructure as code and scalable cloud systems across development and production.

You will provision and manage infrastructure across the lifecycle, implement logging, monitoring, access controls, and automate deployments while collaborating with product

Qualifications

• Background in Software Engineering, IT Administration, Cybersecurity Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• Experience configuring resources with major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP) via manual or IaC.
• Experience with Linux administration and scripting.
• Understanding of the OSI network stack.
• Ability to work as a team and contribute to architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage product infrastructure across development to production.
• Develop, deploy and maintain cloud architectures using Infrastructure as Code.
• Set up logging, telemetry and alerts to monitor performance and production systems.
• Ensure infrastructure and data security with access controls, secrets management and network configs.
• Automate deployments and write scripts for incident recovery.
• Collaborate with platform, product engineers and algorithm developers to provide robust infra.
• Provide guidance on design, testing, security and operations best practices.

You are at the front lines of med tech innovation. You provision and manage our product infrastructure. You work hand-in-hand with product engineers, algorithm developers and application engineers to efficiently implement, deploy and operate cloud infrastructure in development and production. You show creative thinking and proactively come up with ideas and strategies to improve our software, infrastructure and product performance.

Our technical stack is build on AWS, Terraform (HCL), Ansible and Bash / Python.

We are looking for someone at a junior to mid-level of experience eager to join a fast growing team offering opportunities for personal development and growth.

This is a remote or hybrid position on time zones between US Eastern Time and Eastern European Time.

Your responsibilities:

• You provision and manage our product infrastructure across the product life-cycle, from development to production
• You develop, deploy and maintain cloud based architectures and systems using Infrastructure as Code
• You set up logging, telemetry and alerts to monitor application performance and our production systems
• You ensure our infrastructure and data are secure by implementing access controls, managing secrets and enforcing network security configurations
• You automate deployments and operational tasks, and develop scripts and playbooks for incident recovery
• You work in close collaboration with the platform team, product engineers and algorithm developers, with the goal to provide robust and well-documented infrastructure for deployment in products
• You provide guidance on industry best practices around design, testing, security and operations

Requirements

You’re a passionate cloud/platform engineer, generalist and hobbyist. You come from a background in software engineering, IT administration or cybersecurity engineering. You’re interested in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring and secure production systems. Privacy and security are top of mind for you, and you understand the importance of cybersecurity and compliance in healthcare.

You work fast without compromising on quality. You take a problem solving approach to infrastructure and operations. You get your motivation from developing cloud architectures that power products impacting people’s lives.

To succeed in this role, you must have :

• Background in Software Engineering, IT Administration, Cybersecurity Engineering or equivalent through experience
• Experience configuring resources with a major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure or GCP, either manually or using Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with Linux administration and scripting
• Understanding of the OSI network stack
• Ability to work as a team, make architectural decisions together, and provide and receive feedback

Additionally, it will help to have :

• Proficiency in an Infrastructure as Code language or framework such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Serverless Framework or Pulumi
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman or Kubernetes
• Experience or interest in DevOps and CI/CD
• Experience with Bash and/or Python
• A practical approach to prototyping: build the golden path first, then refine it to cover the remaining use cases
• Preference for understandability over elegance

Extra bonus points for:

• AWS certification in Cloud Computing, Security, DevOps, Development or Networking
• Work experience in a healthcare environment
• Experience with standards and frameworks such as SOC2, ISO 62304, HIPAA, ISO 13485, HITRUST or MDR
