Brown & Brown Insurance in Plano, TX is seeking a hands-on Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and scale enterprise Azure cloud services. This role collaborates with cloud architects, security, and operations to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.

You will focus on Infrastructure as Code, automation, and platform standardization, leveraging Terraform, Bicep, ARM, and Azure DevOps to create reusable patterns and self-service capabilities for enterprise teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support Azure cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, identity, storage, and security.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code modules (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help build, automate, support, and scale enterprise Azure cloud services. This role will contribute to cloud platform engineering, infrastructure automation, operational excellence, and standardized cloud service delivery across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong Azure engineering experience and is passionate about Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, cloud operations, and platform standardization. This engineer will work closely with cloud architects, application teams, security, networking, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.

This role combines cloud engineering, operational support, automation, and continuous improvement responsibilities within a modern cloud platform environment.

How You Will Contribute:

Core Platform Engineering

• Design, build, deploy, and support Azure cloud infrastructure services acrosscompute, networking, identity, storage, and security domains.
• Contribute to the design and ongoing evolution of enterprise Azure cloud platform capabilities.
• Develop andmaintainreusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar technologies.
• Support implementation of standardized cloud deployment patterns, automation frameworks, and self-service cloud capabilities.
• Integrate cloud solutions into existing enterprise infrastructure while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Produce technical designs, deployment documentation, operational procedures, and engineering standards.

Cloud Automation & DevOps Enablement

• Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks using PowerShell, scripting, Azure Automation, and DevOps tooling.
• Supportadoptionof CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud engineering best practices across technology teams.
• Contribute todevelopmentof standardized cloud platform services, golden paths, and deployment templates.
• Collaborate with architects and development teams to implement automated, repeatable, and governed cloud solutions.
• Promote platform engineering principles focused on standardization, automation, self-service, and operational maturity.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Relevant Azure certifications preferred, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate,Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architech Expert.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles.
• Strong recent hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and supporting Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar.
• Experience supporting or implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, security, monitoring, governance, and operational best practices.
• Experience supporting Azure services such as:
  • Azure Virtual Machines
  • Azure Virtual Network
  • VPN / ExpressRoute
  • Azure Key Vault
  • Azure Storage
  • Azure Policies
  • Azure Backup & Recovery
  • Azure Virtual Desktop / Cloud PC
  • Web Apps / App Services
• Understanding ofcloud security concepts including Conditional Access, RBAC, NSGs, and cloud firewalls.
• Experience with monitoring, operational support, troubleshooting, and incident management within Azure environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud transformation, standardization, or modernization initiatives.
