Job summary

Exelixis, Inc. in Alameda, CA seeks an Associate Principal Engineer – Cloud Platform to shape cloud strategy and build automated, secure, scalable cloud services.

You will lead end-to-end delivery from ideation through CI/CD, work with application teams to streamline deployments, and mentor engineers while staying current with industry trends. The role requires 10+ years in cloud infrastructure, deep AWS and Terraform experience, and comfort operating in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 9+ years of experience or Bachelor's with 11+ years in a relevant field.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, Systems Manager, IAM).
• Experience in SOX and FDA regulated environments is a plus.
• Strong DevOps, IaC and Terraform experience.

Responsibilities

• Guide cloud platform strategy and drive major initiatives end to end.
• Refine end-to-end development and deployment processes (CI/CD, security scanning).
• Collaborate with stakeholders; influence executives on technical directions.
• Mentor engineers and stay ahead of industry trends.
