Job summary

BNY Mellon is seeking a Cloud Operations Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Cloud, Platform, and AI Infrastructure team. The role is based in Pittsburgh or Lake Mary and involves supporting Azure, GCP, AWS, and OCI across enterprise environments, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes, Linux, and automation.

You will drive incident response, RCA, capacity planning, and governance collaboration while advancing ModelOps and AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or related field; professional infra certs preferred.
• Typically 6–10 years of cloud operations or SRE experience in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Azure and GCP in production, plus familiarity with AWS or OCI.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes, especially AKS.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Monitoring/logging/observability tools such as Splunk.
• Vulnerability remediation tools Wiz and Qualys.
• Scripting/automation in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Incident, problem, change and release management in enterprise settings.
• GRC understanding in regulated environments, with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations across multi-cloud environment, focusing on Azure and GCP.
• Provide operational support for AWS and OCI as needed.
• Manage cloud provisioning, configuration changes, service requests, and decommissioning.
• Support AKS/Kubernetes and containerized workloads with engineering teams.
• Perform Linux administration and support for cloud-hosted platforms.
• Support cloud-hosted databases such as Azure SQL MI and Oracle.
• Maintain AI/ML infrastructure and ModelOps-related services.
• Remediate configuration, security, and vulnerability issues using Wiz and Qualys.
• Monitor infrastructure and services with Splunk and other observability tools.
• Respond to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
• Support release and deployment management for controlled production changes.
• Assist with cloud demand, capacity management, and quota forecasting.
• Collaborate with security, risk, compliance, audit, and engineering teams on governance.
• Contribute to business continuity, disaster recovery, and resiliency practices.
• Automate routine operations using Terraform, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotations.
