Job summary

Humana seeks a Sr. Cloud Architect – NoSQL Database Engineer to design and support MongoDB, Neo4j, and vector databases within enterprise cloud architectures. The role emphasizes Azure/GCP deployment, Python automation, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

You'll partner with Data Platform Engineering to implement secure, scalable NoSQL solutions, ensure compliance, and improve uptime across production environments in Annapolis, MD.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise NoSQL databases (MongoDB and Neo4j).
• Cloud platforms Azure and/or GCP deployment experience.
• Python automation and data workflow development.
• Kubernetes deployment, scaling, and management (AKS/GKE).
• Strong security, backup, and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize NoSQL database solutions using MongoDB Atlas, MongoDB Enterprise, Neo4j, and vector database technologies.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation with Terraform integrated with Azure and/or GCP.
• Deploy, manage, and scale database workloads using Kubernetes to ensure reliability and operational efficiency.
• Ensure robust database security, backup, recovery, and regulatory compliance aligned with Humana standards.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide L3 support for production environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to integrate database solutions within the enterprise architecture.
• Develop Python‑based automation and data workflows.
• Document processes and solutions per SDLC and cloud engineering standards.
