Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on application networking within the Elastic Cloud. You will design scalable networking features, integrate security controls, and refactor code to improve functionality, leveraging AI tools to boost productivity.

Work with multiple engineering teams to support Elasticsearch, Kibana, and the Elastic stack. Applicants should have Golang experience with networking components, strong Kubernetes knowledge, and familiarity with cloud networking

Qualifications

Hands-on experience developing software in Golang with an emphasis on networking components that can scale.
Experience with Kubernetes (Cilium, external-dns, Envoy Gateway & Crossplane) is valuable.
Knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP) and their networking ecosystem.
Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance code functionality and maintainability.
Facilitated knowledge-sharing initiatives that promoted best practices in application networking across teams.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable and robust application networking features to enhance performance, integrating security controls.
Analyze performance metrics, conduct load testing, and optimize networking features for scalability and efficiency.
Identify and tackle networking issues, perform root cause analysis, and document troubleshooting processes.
Collaborate with Engineering teams across Elastic to fulfill Application Networking requirements.
