Job summary

Apple Inc. Seattle is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineering Manager to lead a Production Engineering team responsible for availability, latency, and resiliency of Apple’s global cloud networking services.

You will partner with software, infrastructure, and security teams to design fault‑tolerant systems at massive scale. You will own SLIs/SLOs, mentor engineers, drive automation, and guide release engineering while promoting a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
• 6+ years in a technical leadership role with people management responsibilities.
• Hands-on with reliability engineering, SRE, or large-scale production operations.
• Strong background in designing and operating highly available distributed systems at scale.
• Experience with SDN and software-defined networking is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the reliability strategy and roadmap for Apple’s cloud networking platforms.
• Lead day-to-day reliability initiatives including sprint planning and retrospectives with a focus on operational outcomes.
• Establish and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to guide engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with software, infrastructure, and security teams to design fault-tolerant systems.
• Promote automation and self-healing through tooling, deployments, and robust testing.
• Mentor engineers through 1:1s, career planning, and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with recruiting to attract top reliability engineering talent.
• Advocate for reliability and operational excellence across product/platform teams.
