Google Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Software Engineer for the GDC Networking team within Google Cloud. You will work on large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems, building networking solutions and primitives for edge deployments and on-premises modernization.

The role emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and the ability to tackle complex problems across the full stack, including kernel-level networking concepts and data-plane/control-plane design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or compute/storage/hardware experience.
• Experience in C, C++, Python, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Design and develop network connectivity solution for hybrid/multi cloud, involving data plane and control plane elements.
• Design and implement new networking features for GDC platforms and assist external customers in production clusters.
• Design and develop network virtualization solutions for Kubernetes workloads.
