Google Cloud accelerates every organization's ability to digitally transform its business in Sunnyvale, CA. We seek a mid-level Network Engineer to design scalable networks, forecast capacity, and mentor junior engineers.

Requires a BS in a related field and 3 years of experience with large-scale design, troubleshooting, BGP, and automation. Hybrid work may be allowed; base salary ranges from $154,000 to $181,000 plus 15% bonus target and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in large-scale network design, capacity allocation, growth forecasting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with BGP and multi-vendor SDN networks; ability to design automation for network processes.
• Ability to write readable code in Python, C++, or Go following engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantifiable analysis of network data and capacity forecast models to improve scalability and user experience.
• Evaluate network inefficiencies and design improved software, designs, and processes; develop software to enhance performance and security.
• Identify and resolve complex software, hardware, and network problems with minimal guidance.
• Scale systems by creating tools and automation to improve reliability and velocity.
• Participate in rotating on-call to support multi-vendor SDN-based wired and wireless networks.
