Freedom Technology Solutions Group in McLean, VA is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join on customer site to support a geospatial data visualization application. The role focuses on maintaining and modernizing networks and guiding migration to the cloud, with emphasis on availability, performance, security compliance, and proactive operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network and transport technology experience.
• 4+ years of cloud networking design/maintenance.
• Experience configuring Cisco and Juniper devices, switches, routers, firewalls.
• Experience with Linux networking (CentOS/Red Hat/Amazon Linux).
• Experience with modernizing networks, physical and cloud.
• Experience supporting IP services across classifications (IPv4/IPv6, VPN, QoS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP).
• Certification: IAT II.

Responsibilities

• Focus on Network Engineering, new project requirements, and operation of existing infrastructure.
• Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring and upgrades across physical and cloud environments.
• Research and implement system-wide network solutions to support business goals.
• Troubleshoot network media and components.
• Monitor health and performance of the network.
• Develop a roadmap for cloud migration and capabilities.
• Develop test plans and documentation for configuration upgrades.
• Support traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve capacity and reliability.
• Follow customer security processes and policies.
• Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams.
