Job summary

DHI-WFS is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to design and implement network solutions, plan capacity, and conduct rigorous testing. You will craft detailed schematics and provide guidance on hardware and software choices to meet business needs.

Responsibilities include maintaining network interconnections, performing secure configurations, and coordinating with engineering teams to ensure smooth operation and future scalability.

Qualifications

• Ability to install, configure, and secure Windows and RHEL operating systems.
• Configure and maintain network devices including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware and software; capable of multi-project management.

Job description

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Mandatory Skills:

• Ability to install, configure, security harden, maintain, back-up, patch operating systems (Windows and RHEL) Ability to install, configure, upgrade, & maintain network related devices to include but not limited to switches, routers,&
• firewalls.
• Excellent problem solving skills, advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, communicating and coordinating work among other system administrators, software developers, systems engineering teams, mission engineering, management and customers.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects with minimal guidance/supervision and complete projects according to schedule.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with virtual environment running VMWare and administration through vSphere
• Ability to install, configure, administer and maintain HP c3000/c7000 HP blade hardware and 3PAR SAN hardware/drives/RAID
• Ability to use HP iLO remote administration of servers
• Ability to administer VMware and ESXi Servers
• Ability to evaluate, suggest options and implement the integration of servers into Microsoft AD domains/centralized LDAP repositories
• Ability to create a baseline server image for deployment on other servers
• Experience SW in support of DCID 6/3 and/or ICD 509 certification of IT infrastructure and COTS products
• Documented experience and training with VERITAS products
• Experience with networks, firewalls and switches as well as experience with system or application administration for web-based applications, web-based COTS products
• Government AWS experience preferred
