Innova Solutions is seeking a Cloud Native Software Engineer-Intermediate for Jersey City, NJ. You will design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade services running on AWS using Java and/or Python, with a focus on secure, scalable infrastructure and API endpoints.

This contract role emphasizes CI/CD, infrastructure as code with Terraform, and collaboration with product, QA, SRE, and security teams.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience (or equivalent practical experience).
• Hands-on experience with application development, testing, and supporting services in production.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Working experience with AWS and deploying/operating backend services in cloud environments.
• Experience building and consuming APIs; familiarity with microservices and/or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Terraform (or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling) and environment/workspace organization.

Job Responsibilities

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Proficiency in Java and/or Python with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Working experience with AWS and deploying/operating backend services in cloud environments.
• Experience building and consuming APIs; familiarity with microservices and/or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Terraform (or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling) and environment/workspace organization.
• Experience with backend data model design and working with databases (relational and/or NoSQL).
• Understanding of secure coding practices and how to build resilient services (logging/monitoring, error handling, performance).
• Ability to work independently on well-scoped problems while collaborating on more ambiguous designs.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Experience with messaging/eventing systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, MQ).
• Experience with Docker/containerization and CI/CD pipeline tooling.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices (unit/integration testing, TDD familiarity).
• Familiarity with modern API design patterns (REST, gRPC) and observability practices (metrics, tracing).

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*:$ 80/Hr.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
